The Journey


Late Shri Atmaram Joytaram Patel, migrated from Unjha to Ahmedabad with with a passion for establishing his own business. He set-up a company to manufacture power looms for grey cloth fabric and continued in the business segment from 1964 to 1984.


Shri Bharat Patel entered the business and added chemicals to the company’s product profile. With his sharp and versatile business acumen, he led Dayana to cater to industries like pharmaceuticals, cotton industry, manufacturing industry and plastic packaging industry. The entrepreneurs continued running the businesses together till 2003.

In 1992 Pragnesh Patel, a renowned name in the real estate and auto industry joined the company. His pioneering achievements include the establishment of Delight Auto, the first mechanical shop for car wheel alignment.

In 1996 15,000 sq.ft. unit commenced function at a production capacity of 45 MT/Month at Rakhiyal in Ahmedabad. The production profile included fabric for car covers, scooter covers and tarpaulin. In 2000, the united commenced manufacturing of multipurpose sized fabric for tents and truck tarps amongst other needs of clients.


Dayana founded another unit at Vatva Industrial Belt in Gujarat under the leadership of Shri Bharat Patel. The unit was a the first step towards augmenting Dayana’s footprint on a global platform. In 2010 under an expansion scheme, two manufacturing floors were added and all machinery was replaced with total new, and latest equipment.

In 2003, Bharat Patel took the reigns of the Vatva Unit as its CEO. The unit was moved to the more lucrative GIDC area and equipped with the latest lamination machine, additional tap plants, 16 circular and 20 draw box looms. Total capacity of production also escalated to 100MT. With the addition of another 8-foot lamination machine, this number rose to 150 MT. At the time, 70 employees were working with at the unit.


In 2010, the entire production line of the company was again upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment, that includes:

  • Lohiya Tap Plant
  • Lamination - 12 feet
  • 6 ft - 9 looms
  • 8 ft - 3 looms
  • 12 ft - 6 looms
  • Total 300 MT/month.

The employee strength also rose from 70 to 90.

2013 - Launch

With the vision to expand the business globally, Mr. Bharat & Mr. Pragnesh decided to merge the activities under a common business unit. With this decision they plunged in the business of BOPP Woven-sack and procured 8 Acres of land 9 miles from Ahmedabad. The construction of this latest facility started in December 2013 and concluded in December 2014. And hence the new entity DAYANA POLYPLAST PVT LTD. came into existence. The new facility is spread across an area of 2,50,000 sq.ft. with 50 rooms for employees and a full service canteen. The production profile included making of fabric rolls with 50 looms.
Soon, a very first time in India, BOPP Block Bottom Valve Bags were added to the products portfolio of Dayana to serve cement industry. Windmoller and Holscher (BSW) Machine was added to the production line to cater to this need that had the capacity to produce 100 bags/min. In the first year alone, Dayana marked a production of 500 MT production started serving two of the biggest names in the cement industry, J.K Laxmi Cement and Birla White Cement. The company also commenced the biggest names in fertilizer industry like HarvestPro (USA), Indian Potash Limited and IFFCO.
